Participate In Our Trials
It is common for antifouls to show variations in efficiency and performance depending on factors such as boat location, boat type, boat usage pattern, the time of year and so on. Therefore, to augment the results from our static panel tests, we are now conducting wide-scale consumer trials. In conjunction with our friends at “Motor Boats and Yachting” magazine and “Sailing Today” magazine, we are looking for 250 boat owners willing to partake in one of the biggest ever Clearcoat antifoul trials in the UK.
To gain real-world feedback from active UK boat owners we are offering to provide a test pot of Clearcoat antifoul (sufficient to fully treat approximately 1 square meter) free-of-charge to all successful applicants. Delivery within the UK mainland is free of charge. If you need the product sent off the mainland or abroad, please contact us first as there may be a small delivery charge.
The intention is that each successful applicant will receive a tester-pot of Clearcoat, and that this be applied to a 1 square meter section of the boat. The remainder of the boat can be painted with any other antifoul. A record should be kept of when the Clearcoat antifoul was applied, the area of the boat to which it was applied, the brand of antifoul used on the remainder of the boat and the date of launch. Taking a picture of the Clearcoat treated section, prior to launch, with a digital camera (or camera phone) is also recommended.
When the boat is lifted at the end of the season it will be possible to judge the performance of the Clearcoat antifoul in comparison to that of the antifoul chosen for the remainder of the hull. A second digital photograph should be taken if possible, to record the level of performance. By supplying goods to 250 boats of all different types from many locations around the UK we should finish with useful information comparing Clearcoat to most of the common alternatives in true like-for-like testing.
Participants must be willing to have open dialogue with us during the trial so that we can monitor progress.
The manufacturer has agreed to provide a 33% discount (from the launch RRP of Clearcoat) to all trial participants. Consequently boat owners have the unique opportunity to test this revolutionary new antifoul for free, and if they like it and decide to treat the whole boat next season, can then purchase the product at a preferential rate.
